How long have you been in business?
Since 1911 Dakota Monument Company and has been owned by the Anderson family for four generations. Now with the fifth generation working in the business.
What is your primary product or service?
Cemetery memorials, grave markers, family monuments, final date lettering and custom stone signage.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I am the 4th generation of our family to own and opperate Dakota Monument Company. I have been involved since I was a very young boy and would go to work with my dad. While he would be working I would sweep floors and do some minor cleaning around the shop.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are constantly learning and researching new trends in our industry. Being progressive in what we can provide our customers.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one location in south Fargo but service a large region through out North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota.
Provide detailed directions to your location
We are located on the corner of 24th Ave South and University Drive in Fargo. Four blocks south of I-94 at Exit 351. We have been at this location since the middle 1960's. However, we did build an new facility in 1994. The building is gray in color with a plum colored roof.

Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Dave Anderson have owned the business since 1980 when Dave's father Freddie pasted away. Dave also has been employed by Dakota Monument Company full time since his graduation from NDSU in 1977. And part time through High School and College
What are your hours of operation?
Monday from 8 to 7, Tuesday-Friday from 8 to 5 and Saturday 9 to 12 (February-mid November) and by appointment evenings and weekends.
